How to use C- POOL

How To Use

Pools
Before adding C-POOL:
  • Clean and shock-treat pool water with chlorine or bromine to 3 ppm
  • Balance water alkalinity, total alkalinity should read between 80-150 ppm
  • Adjust pH to read (7.2 )
  • As a minimum treatment, add 57 g (2 oz.) of C-POOL per 4,500 L (1,000 gal.) of pool water, which will result in a minimum (concentration of 0.5 ppm copper)
  • Distribute C-POOL by sprinkling across pool water surface, every meter or so around the perimeter of the pool, avoiding the coping and any stairs
  • Run filter system for 48 hours straight, back washing filter every 12 hours during the 48 hour period
  • Vacuum the next day
  • Thereafter, reduce pump running time back to normal (8 hrs. a day)

As a minimum weekly maintenance treatment:
  • Add 3.5g (1/8 oz.) of C-POOL per 4,500 L (1,000 gal.) of pool water (an additional 0.03 ppm) to maintain a minimum reading of 0.5 ppm Copper. This amount will normally be sufficient, depending on water loss from backwashing the filter etc
  • Check Copper reading. Use readily available test kits to ensure copper levels are maintained at 0.5 ppm to 1.0 ppm (do not exceed 1.0 pmm copper)
  • Add chlorine to achieve an ideal reading of 1.5 ppm. IF using a Brominator or Chlorinator, fill and place on lowest setting
  • Check and adjust pH to 7.2

Eg: ( 24' above ground ) initial treatment= 12 scoops of C-POOL, Weekly = ½ scoop of C-POOL

Eg: ( 16' x 32' in-ground) initial treatment= 18 scoops of C-POOL, Weekly = 1 scoop of C-POOL

Hot Tubs and Spas

For start up, begin with fresh water, check pH and adjust to 7.2, check total alkalinity and adjust to 120ppm. Shock water with liquid chorine (3 to 5 ppm).

Next day, add one half pound of baking soda and three tsp of C-Pool. Run filter mode for two to three hours then return to previous setting.

Check pH weekly and adjust if necessary to a 7.2 reading. for best results, use Muriatic Acid to lower pH or Baking Soda to raise pH.

Weekly add 1 tsp of C-Pool while on filter mode.

Chlorinate water twice weekly to achieve a reading of 3 to 5 ppm. For best results, use liquid chlorine only.

For best results, avoid all granular and compressed chalk products, such as pucks or tablets. Instead use liquid chlorine, C-Pool, Baking Soda and Muriatic Acid to maintain all readings. In most cases, there is no need for anything else. After heavy use, it is always recommended to shock hot tub with liquid chlorine (5 to 7 ppm.)

Change water every three months, and make sure the shell is cleaned thoroughly before adding new water. Rinse filter cartridge weekly.
